Claims Specialist

As a Claims Specialist for Giltner Logistics, you will be responsible for managing an evolving portfolio of claims from start to finish. This includes working with internal and external customers to investigate and help resolve all claims involving Giltner Logistics.  

Our ideal candidate will have experience in claims, insurance, fraud, or similar fields. Must be familiar with Google Apps and enjoy learning new software, possess problem-solving skills, and demonstrate critical thinking. Must have the ability and willingness to adapt to change, be a team player, meet and exceed deadlines all while working in a demanding fast-paced environment. 



  • Research reported claims and determine validity of the claim.

  • Manage the documentation and submission process of each claim. 

  • Collect all necessary documents and information to file, investigate, and resolve claims in a timely manner.

  • Diligently follow up on claims and insurance companies on behalf of Giltner Logistics and our customers. 

  • Make contact with carriers, insurance companies, salvage companies, and customers regarding claims made by customers, receivers, or shippers for damaged goods or shortages of freight. 

  • Work with Accounting and Collections staff to resolve carrier and customer accounting issues related to claims. 



  • Experience in claims, insurance, fraud, or similar field helpful, but not required. 

  • Strong independent decision-making skills

  • Ability to work quickly and handle requests from many people.

  • Capable of meeting multiple deadlines occurring at the same time.

  • Ability to prioritize various requests and handle changing priorities.

  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

  • Hardworking and a positive attitude with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication that will allow assistance to a multitude of personalities and learning sets.
