Baby & Me: Growth Through Play
Join us for Baby & Me: Growth Through Play , a Montessori-inspired, play-based learning 6-week program designed to support mothers and their little ones (ages 1–4) through meaningful play and connection. This program provides in-the-moment support for parents while engaging children in activities that build essential skills. Together, we’ll explore:
- Conflict resolution & mindfulness techniques for parents and children
- Processing big emotions in healthy ways
- Play with sounds to encourage phonemic awareness
- Sensory activities that strengthen fine motor skills

Each session begins with warm greetings and an emotions check-in, helping preschoolers identify and express how they feel. Children are then guided into play stations, where they learn social skills like sharing, patience, and conflict resolution, while also practicing transitions and understanding time. Parents gain insight into the importance of daily rhythms and learn strategies like picture identification—teaching children to clean up by matching toys with picture labels in their proper place.
We also incorporate Circle Time, starting with short 5–7 minute sessions that include stories, number and color recognition, and phonemic awareness activities. As the program progresses, children gradually build the ability to focus for longer periods, always with curiosity and joy at the heart of the learning. Group activities wrap up each class, reinforcing both individual growth and community building.
As children explore and develop through play, parents learn alongside them—gaining tools to engage with intention, manage transitions, and support emotional growth. At the Culture for Change Foundation, we believe it takes a village. This program also offers a safe space for parents to connect, share experiences, and encourage one another. For moments of calm, our wellness room is available, reminding us that self-care is just as important for parents as it is for children.
